Because copying of commercial movies and games is illegal, you may have problems with encryption if you are extracting data from an encrypted CD or DVD. There's no legal way around this.
File corruption is possible especially if you are extracting large amounts of data and the system unexpectedly shuts down during the extraction. Try re-extracting the files. If this doesn't work, you may be extracting them to a damaged portion of the hard disk or a damaged blank CD or DVD. Use the disk error checking utility built-into Windows to scan for and repair any errors. Try extracting the files to a new CD or DVD.
If the computer reboots during the extraction process, not only might you have a corrupt file as a result, you may need to investigate the cause. Computers that restart unexpectedly could have an infection by either a computer virus or spyware causing the shutdowns. To rule out this possibility, run an anti-virus and anti-spyware program.
